Flavio Gohl | CTO & Co-Founder

Aerodynamics has been Flavio’s passion since he was a boy. As a young maker he started to design, construct and fly his own rc planes. He still builds to this day. As an avid model glider builder and RC pilot, Flavio has a unique mastery for the stability and control of wings. Flavio went on to gain experience in the aircraft industry at companies such as RUAG and Pilatus Aircraft Ltd where he worked as structural engineer. He completed a masters in mechanical engineering ETH focusing on lightweight structures, robotics, control and computational science. During his thesis at ETH, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Flavio developed a high fidelity, real-time simulation environment which has served as a critical tool in the development of TwingTec’s unique approach to wind energy. Flavio leads the technical team to achieve the impossible. Bringing innovation to a product with a positive impact on the world’s climate is a great motivation for Flavio as a co – founder of TwingTec to push the vision towards reality. Flavio is responsible for the technical team and has a strong background in prototyping, lightweight structures, control and automation as well as software design and flight testing.
